Oil and gas software solutions

Did you know that the Middle East’s oil industry is more than 1000 years old? But it might not survive the next winter. Oil well data is changing. It is much easier to extract oil than it used to be. Back in the 1970s, oil wells were only vertical, but now they can be cut in many different directions.

Today, oil well production software has made it much easier to reach oil in remote locations. Horizontal drilling makes it possible to reach locations which are several kilometers away from the drill site. Oil well software is making oil well data look better and better every day.

Some things about oil wells do not change frequently. For example, people still reach oil by drilling a hole which is anywhere from 5 to 50 inches in diameter. An oil well must still be completed, or enabled to pump oil, after the hole is dug. But oil production software has many different applications.

And today, oil well data is not only looking good in places like Saudi Arabia. It is not just in states like Texas. Rather, oil is springing up in all kinds of places. One can find oil or natural gas everywhere from North Dakota to upstate New York. Pennsylvania is seeing an oil production boom for the first time in decades.

There is a lot of work for people who are looking for work. This is not to say that gas extraction does not have costs as well as benefits. There is always the risk of pollution and other potential hazards for the environment. Nonetheless, gas and oil production is a major part the Rust Belt economy and it will probably only grow more important as American looks to grow more independent of foreign oil.

  1. Good news! I actually worked in the gas and oil industry in Texas for years and it was a land of opportunity then. Hopefully, other states will catch on.

  2. California has a lot of energy. So does New York. The problem is that neither state has the governors who are willing to crack that energy out of the ground.
