What are pico de gallo salsa dips? If you answered “a recipe for salsa” you would be incorrect. A better answer would be a Mexican condiment that is made from chopped onions, tomatoes, and jalapenos or serrano peppers.” If you are familiar with the classic mild salsa dip recipe, you probably see that the same ingredients found in pico de gallo salsa dips also appear in recipes using salsa.

In order to prepare basic recipes with salsa dip, you have to start with what is, essentially, pico de gallo. Then you would add avocado, lime juice, cilantro, mango, cucumber, vinegar, or any of the various other things that are commonly used to make salsa. But that’s one of the cool things about salsa; as long as the basic ingredients are there you can add just about anything to it that your little heart desires.

While all of us enjoy salsa because of its flavor, salsa nutrition makes it a good snack choice for people who are trying to eat healthier. While some store brand salsa recipes tend to be somewhat high in sodium, salsa is a good source of vitamin C, healthy monosaturated and polysaturated fats, and fiber. It is also important to realize that fresh salsa contains less sodium than store brands.

Salsa seems to be one of those condiments that just about everyone seems to enjoy. Whether you use it as a dip, mix it with nacho cheese, or use it in your own custom recipes, salsa is a tasty food that you do not have to feel guilty eating for a late night snack.
