E makeup and the use of fertilizers.

Fertilizers can provide two types of nutrients: micronutrients along with macronutrients. For proper growth the plants need significant amounts of the former and a small amount of each. The macronutrients comprise sodium, potassium, and phosphorous. Examples of micronutrients are molybdenum and iron as well as manganese.

There are two types of fertilizers available: Straight fertilizers that only offer one nutrient and Mixed fertilizers, which offer three nutrients (i.e. NPK). Most fertilizers come in bags with an amount of fertilizer. The ratio is displayed on the bag and typically comprised of three numbers as well as one bracket. Every number represents the specific concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Each bracket indicates the amount of nutrients provided for one kg of fertilizer.

The decision of which fertilizer is best fit for your garden will depend on the needs of your plants. Whichever you choose you should ensure that your fertilizer use is planned so that you get the results you want.
